Johan and Ina van der Westhuysen are South Africans by birth and became born again Christians on the 8 of October 1988. This happened under the guidance of pastor Ben Farrell at the Hartbeespoort Christian Fellowship under the covering of the Assemblies of God.
The first Monday after his conversion he attended his first prayer meeting ever and while he was listening to the brothers praying and speaking, he realized his absolute ignorance of the Word of God. He shared this with pastor Ben and enrolled for a diploma course at the South African Theological College.
Johan became a sold-out disciple for the Lord and was released into fulltime pastoral ministry at the Carletonville Assembly of God in South Africa after just two years. These were very difficult years because of the lack of experience, but God was always there.
Four years later they were send to the Kimberley Assembly of God in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. In 2001 he responded to the call of world evangelism and has ministered in the UK, the Netherlands, India, Nepal, Philippines; Malaysia, Penang, Singapore, Malawi, Botswana, Swaziland, Mozambique and South Africa.
He has since obtained his Bachelors' degree in Ministry and is currently busy studying for his Master of Divinity degree at the Eastern Theological College in New Delhi, India.

They are presently ministering under the umbrella of the South African Assemblies of God and they are both members of the South African Association of Evangelists.
Johan is the author of one book "Kindling, Feeding and Spreading the Flame" - a book with studies on the foundations of the Christian life. This book has been translated and printed into Hindi and should soon be available in Telegu. It has also been translated into Nepalese.
He is also the author of several follow-up courses for new believers and discipleship courses.
A second book on prayer is almost ready for printing
Johan is also the founder and president of Word to World Schools. These schools specializes in the training of evangelists. At present there are seven schools; one in Kathmandu, Nepal; one in Balangir, Orissa, India and five in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India.
God placed a special passion for India and Nepal into their hearts.
They have three sons. Chrisjan is the oldest and married to Carole, a French lady. They have one daughter Elena and are residing in Limoges, France. Chrisjan is a professional rugby player.
Hannes is married to Natalie and he is the director of the Tswane branch of Scripture Union in Pretoria, South Africa . They are both trained teachers with a great passion for children and young people. Tatum is now 2 years old.
Arnold finished his one year training with YWAM and his three years diploma at Rhema Bible school. He died tragically in a car accident on 15 June 2005 and went to be with the Lord.
